Initial thoughts – So when I first saw this product I thought it looked absolutely beautiful. My friend had bought it a few weeks before and when I saw it I just had to have it, despite the relatively high price tag! Although I had never used this product and never even owned any sort of product from Yves Saint Laurent I decided to purchase this primer and knew straight away whether the outcome was good or bad, I was going to write a blog post about it!
Packaging – Although most of us won’t admit it, packaging plays a huge role in what we buy! It is what catches your eye from the start and gets you thinking about a product. The YSL Touché éclat blur primer has such eye-catching packaging it would make anyone want to buy it! The product itself has very tiny gold specks running through it, so, of course, it is in a glass bottle to show off this unique detail! The bottle itself is made of thick glass and is very sturdy, it is topped with a gold lid with the initials YSL on the top. The bottle has such an elegant, simple design with the words Yves Saint Laurent on one side and Touché Éclat Blur Primer on the other side, both written in simple gold lettering. All in all, I think the packaging is definitely one of the best out there, it is simple yet eye-catching.
Texture – So, before I talk about the texture of this product I just want to quickly mention that this product does have a very slight scent, but it is only very slight so I would think that it would be okay to use even if you do have sensitive skin, but I cannot speak for everyone as we all have different skin. Now, on to the texture. This product has quite a silicone feel to it, quite comparable to the Benefit Porefessional, however, this product blurs imperfections and smoothes out pores while leaving such a natural glow to the skin which is something I have never seen before with a smoothing primer. The gold specs seem to just melt into your skin giving you the most radiant glow. However, I do know a lot of people that dislike that silicone feeling on their face so just be mindful of that.
Price – This can often be a deal breaker for most people and because the price of this product is definitely up there, this is where some of you may stop reading but I encourage you to read my final thoughts on this product as it may be worth it! Of course the price will vary depending on what currency you use but I have done my research and this product is €38/$52/£29.50. As you can see, this is quite an expensive primer but we are yet to discuss how it wears which is usually where I would decide if a product is worth it!
How the product wears – This product is a dream to apply! It goes onto your skin so smoothly and definitely blurs out imperfections and reduces the appearance of pores! It isn’t often I would say this but, this product does exactly what it says it does! It leaves the most natural glow on your skin, whether you decide to wear it under your makeup or on a bare face it will leave you looking radiant and glowy without being over the top!
Final thoughts – 100% worth it! I know it seems pretty pricey but you are getting 1fl. oz. (30ml) and one pump does your whole face so I’m thinking it will last a long time! I have never used a primer like this before and I think it does everything it claims to do and who can deny how beautiful looks!
